25th year so far !

Being a sentimental and God-fearing person , I generally wish to start every year with prayer and songs, and this year was more special. 4th December 2012, my roommates had booked for Life of Pi 2nd show ( we have been planning to watch the movie for about a week). Praveen was constantly trying to convince me, but I was solid as a rock and I told him “nee enna ketta vaarthaila vaenaalum thittikko, but I am not going to start my year in theater”. Guys started making fun saying aamanda andhannaakku call varum aprom theater’lirundha indecent’a irukkum, etc ,.. same time , there were good reviews about the film Neerparavai and I did not want to miss this movie , so I went to watch Neerparavai around 7 pm , liked every aspect of the film, especially camera and BGM, felt it was the best movie of 2012(of course apart from Thuppaki ;)) then had dinner and reached home around 11 with a great satisfaction of watching a good film to complete 24th year 😛 . Then put my clothes in washing machine and around 11:45 sat in prayer with guitar , thinking of the past year and thanking God for the good deeds throughout the year. Start of the day I guess I was playing my favourite “Enniladanga” ,.. then around 12:05Am my watch, I got the first call from my nanban, from USA 😉 ( it should have been 12:00 Am IST according to his calculation). Then roommates called from the theater after the film was over. Since then it had been going great. I had played guitar in carol round here in Chennai . Then last friday played guitar for poove sempoove at Hyatt hotel for our family day celebration “Sangaman” . It has been a great musical start for the year, so far 😉

Christmas 2012

November 23, 2012, a friday, it was rather known as “black friday” in USA (engalukkum America’le friends irukkaanga ). When I told about my idea of buying camera to my friends the day before, they asked me to search for deals in black friday offer in US. I spent most of the day looking for deals but could not get a decent deal for my budget ,so got it here in spencers through my senior-photographer friend. Finally, I was holding my own camera , canon 550D 18-55mm , it was a great feeling indeed , When I returned back home it was 11:30, still I could not go to sleep without taking my dream “first click” and I had to take around 15 shots to get close to what I had in mind , this is the one

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Started learning many things and started experimenting along with friends during our photowalks since then. Even then I never thought this might be useful apart from my own satisfaction of being able to take some good snaps. Then came this day , Christmas 2012. We had work all four days from 22 to 25 decorating the church, coaching the children to act in skits, etc,. Our lead anna there had brought a 600D from one of his friends for the function. I showed him how to change the settings , and I offered to cover the function and few photos came out well and I felt really really happy for being involved in photography.
